BASIC INGREDIENTS
All of SolGarden Botanicals’ soap and skincare products feel and smell different than mass produced, commercial products. In all of our basic product formulations, we use as much vegetable-based, unprocessed, naturally occurring raw material as possible. Our products are formulated to have a positive, holistic impact on the mind, body and mood.

SolGarden soaps are made using the age-old process of lye and vegetable oil. No lye remains in handmade soap after it has cured, so the finished product is a long-lasting but very mild soap.

Because of the less-processed nature of these products, there may be slight variations, from batch to batch, in the fragrance or color of each product. And no two soaps will look exactly the same because each one is rolled by hand. The essential oils themselves will vary each season as well. Their fragrance is tempered by the weather and conditions of the earth. We believe this is part of the beauty of handmade skincare products that are made with essential oils and other plant-based ingredients.

COLOR
Most of the colors we use are derived from essential oils, natural additives (such as cornmeal), plant extracts, clays, oxides and micas. The oxides and micas are created in laboratories for purity and safety reasons. This means that the color you see occurs in nature, but the naturally occurring version may contain contaminants that are toxic. Our laboratory-produced counterpart is molecularly identical to the naturally occurring material, but without the impurities. This makes it a safe and nearly identical alternative. No dyes are used to enhance our products. Some of our products contain synthetic colorants called ultramarines and are listed on the ingredient list. Ultramarines are cosmetic-grade colorants that are widely used and considered safe & nonirritating.

FRAGRANCE
SolGarden Botanicals strives to replicate “Pure Garden Fragrance” as closely as possible. Essential oil is the aromatic liquid or resin that is extracted from the flowers, leaves, stems, seeds or bark of a plant. We use pure essential oils whenever possible, and search for the closest-to-nature fragrance possible. Many of our fragrances are exclusive to SolGarden Botanicals because we custom blend them.

A number of SolGarden’s products contain only natural fragrance made from essential oils. Look for “all natural” or “naturally fragranced” on the label or in the product description. Our synthetically fragranced products smell so much like the real thing that you will have to read the label to tell the difference! These products will have only the word “fragrance” on the ingredient list.

MANUFACTURE & PACKAGING
All of SolGarden’s products are produced in small batches (micro-batched). This allows hands-on quality control. Soaps are hand rolled, trimmed and wrapped. Lotions and other products are individually mixed, dispensed & packaged by hand.

Our packaging is low-tech, low impact, and low waste. Recyclable materials are used and most products are minimally packaged. Ingredients are fully disclosed, including the presence of fragrance or essential oils.

These products are not intended for use by persons who have skin disorders or who are sensitive or allergic to essential oils. These products are not to be ingested and are for external use only.

All of our finished products are tested only on people.
